Lee,

This email will serve as an update on the status and repair of your system sent in.

Currently I have listed the following machine sent in for repair by you:

Dell Latitude D630 with the serialization of 68LM4G1

As agreed your motherboard is billed at $75.00 per motherboard.

Now, with the Dell Latitude D630 with the serialization 68LM4G1 has been repaired and is ready for return. The system required a reflow on the Nvidia GeForce G86-620-A2, Intel SLA5H, and Intel SLA5Q chipsets.

Please keep in mind you need to reapply thermal compound such as Artic Silver 5. You also need to update the video drivers from Nvidia.com and the BIOS from Dell if one is to be applied. If not, please update your driver from Nvidia.com with your correct operating system listed. Please advise your end user to purchase a cooling pad to help insure the removal of heat from the system if you are performing this as a third party repair.

If you need more help in explaining these areas to your end user, please visit http://www.doubleclickittofixit.com/tips.html

Pictures of the repair can be viewed at http://www.doubleclickittofixit.com/img

Payment was received with the system on 05-21-2010. Postage was also found with the box. No other action is required on your part currently.

Clarence,

This email will serve as an update on the status and repair of your systems sent in.

Currently I have listed the following machines sent in for repair by you:

HP DV6000 with the serialization of CNF7142WCG
HP DV9000 with the serialization of CNF6510YRQ
Toshiba U405 with the serialization of 78133087W
IBM T-30 with the serialization of J1S4H3681GE

As agreeded your motherboards are billed at $100.00 per system.

Now, with the HP DV6000 with the serialization CNF7142WCG has been repaired and is ready for return. The system required a reflow on both the Nvidia GeForce GO6150 (NF-G6150-N-A2) and the Nvidia NF-430-N-A3 chipset.

The HP DV9000 with the serialization CNF6510YRQ has been repaired and is ready for return. The system required a reflow on the Nvidia GeForce NF-SPP-100-N-A2, the Nvidia GeForce GF-GO7600-N-A2, and the Nvidia NF-430-N-A3 chipset.

The Toshiba U405 with the serialization 78133087W requires a QFP package to have the system repaired. The system requires a Winbond WPCE775 chipset replaced. This chipset is labeled Winbond WPCE775LA00G 48178011-AA2 8186BFA. This chipset is running hot and has developed a hot spot with an internal trace failure. With the internal trace failure, the system is dropping the voltage and caused the motherboard to resonate.

The IBM T-30 with the serialization J1S4H3681GE requires a new LCD assembly. Due to the age of the system I do not feel comfortable changing just the inverter. The entire assembly will need to be replaced. The video chip was reflowed as a precaution, but the video still displayed the same symptoms.

Please keep in mind you need to update the video drivers from Nvidia.com and the BIOS from HP if one is to be applied. Please advise your end user to purchase a cooling pad to help insure the removal of heat from the system.
